Parking Changes on Friday, Oct. 5: We Need Your Assistance!

To accommodate at least 200 additional cars from our Inauguration, Homecoming and Family Weekend guests, please consider off-site parking (and donuts!) available at Riverdale High School, St. Mark’s Church, and River View Cemetery. Shuttles will run approximately every 17 minutes.

We need your help in making President Wiewel’s Inauguration and the start of Homecoming and Family Weekend a success. On Friday, October 5, we’re expecting at least 200 additional cars from off-campus guests, so parking will be a monumental challenge. (Yes, even more than usual.)

The most helpful thing you can do is to avoid bringing a vehicle to campus on that day. In order to make that possible, we will offer off-site parking (and donuts!) at Riverdale High School (8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.), St. Mark’s Church (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.), and River View Cemetery at the Palatine Hill Road entrance (7 a.m. to 8 p.m.). Shuttles will run approximately every 17 minutes all day long.

Please also consider public transportation, the Pioneer Express, carpooling, ridesharing services, and other alternative arrangements.

If you do need to bring a car to campus, we ask that you avoid the Griswold lots to allow spaces for guests coming from off-campus. Additionally, Akin and Lower Templeton lots will be closed and reserved for Inauguration visiting guests only.

We realize that this may pose an inconvenience for you. Thank you in advance for your help in making these events a success.
