Academic English Studies (AES) is excited to host 30 South Korean students from Konkuk University, January 20 – February 9, 2019.  These students study at the Konkuk University GLOCAL Campus, located in Chungju, South Korea. The students will participate in a culture program with a homestay component.  Konkuk students are interested in meeting Lewis & Clark students and community members and learning about campus life in the U.S.  Students will explore Portland and Oregon, participating in off-campus activities to improve their English and understanding of Portland and U.S. culture and history.

We are looking for Lewis & Clark student volunteers to match up with one or two Konkuk students for language and culture exchange.  The minimum commitment is to meet with the student once a week for each of the three weeks of the program.  Recruit your friends, and arrange a group meet. Interested students please contact Amy Baskin at amy@lclark.edu or sign up: LC/Konkuk Student Partner

If faculty or staff are interested in hosting two paired students, please contact Kellie Irish at kellie@andeo.org.  If you would like to invite students to visit your class or have questions about this program and how you might connect with these students, contact Laura Shier at shierl@lclark.edu.
