Key Information and Presentations on Health Insurance
As you know, the Pioneer Educators Health Trust will cease to exist as of March 31, and Regence will no longer be offered as an option for health insurance. The Kaiser HMO and Added Choice plans will continue to be offered, along with a new High Deductible Health Plan with a Health Savings Account.
Most employees are finding that their current providers are already in the Added Choice network or have the option to join:
- Most providers under Regence are also part of the Added Choice health network, which includes Legacy, OHSU, Samaritan, Doernbecher, and other hospitals and clinics in the area. The most disruption is in the Providence network.
- If your provider is not part of the Added Choice network, they may have the opportunity to join. Some employees who have had conversations with Human Resources or our benefits consultant have already found this to be true.
- And, in other cases, Kaiser may make an exception for continuity of care (late-stage pregnancy or some types of surgery, for example).
