Director of Physical Education and Athletics Shana Levine is stepping down after nearly five years. Shana has accepted the role of senior associate with 3 Fold Group, a higher education consulting firm specializing in Division III athletics and small college strategic initiatives. Her last day will be April 5.

“I am grateful to the wonderful, talented, and hardworking coaches, staff members, and, of course, our student-athletes. They’ve made this job so rewarding,” Levine said. “Leaving Palatine Hill to pursue a new venture is truly bittersweet. Lewis & Clark provided me a wonderful opportunity, and I look forward to continuing to support our Pioneer student-athletes and coaches.

Mark Pietrok, senior associate director of physical education and athletics and head athletic trainer, will serve as interim athletic director, a role he previously held in 2013. Pietrok has been with Pioneer athletics since 1989.

“We will miss Shana’s leadership,” said Interim Vice President for Student Life Andrew McPheeters. “During her tenure, Shana developed a positive and supportive culture among our entire athletic department–student-athletes, coaches, and staff. She also oversaw a coaching transition with the football team that has greatly improved our roster size and competitiveness.”
