What three words would you use to describe L&C?
Inclusive, kind, intellectual

What set Lewis & Clark apart from other schools you considered?
Lewis & Clark felt different because of its sense of community. Coming from a smaller town, I’ve grown to enjoy being part of a close-knit community, and Lewis & Clark appealed to me as a school that has mastered walking the line between fostering a feeling of community and encouraging individuality within its student body.

What three words would you use to describe L&C?
Accepting, intelligent, beautiful

Why did you choose L&C?
Its focus on international studies as well as its mission to develop well-rounded students. The College Outdoors program definitely stood out to me as unique, as well as the Living-Learning Communities in the campus residential areas. I have visited campus many times and the view is spectacular. At any point in the year, the campus is the prettiest place around and provides a perfect setting for college. I’m very excited to be a part of the track team next year, and I am hoping to study abroad more than once during my college experience.

What three words would you use to describe L&C?
Beautiful, caring, innovative

Why did you choose Lewis & Clark?
My brother is a senior at Lewis & Clark, so I am very familiar with the school and was impressed with it from the beginning. I love its diversity and its dedication to a creative and innovative approach to a liberal arts education. Once I started talking to the football coaches, whom I trust a great deal, I realized that they truly have my best interest at heart. I decided that the college is a great fit for me as a student-athlete. In addition, the Bates Center for Entrepreneurship and Leadership was a huge motivating factor for me. My brother is involved with the center and it has helped him achieve his goal of landing an amazing job.

What three words would you use to describe L&C?
Quirky, camaraderie, love

Why did you choose Lewis & Clark?
Wow, where do I even start? Lewis & Clark was the first college I ever toured in the U.S., and let me tell you, when I first arrived on campus, my jaw dropped. I think my mom’s did, too. There is something magical about L&C. Whether it’s the outgoing and interesting personalities or just the campus itself, it’s a special place. There are also so many opportunities for me to try new things, and even if I hate something after I try it, I know I’ll still be welcomed with open arms.

What three words would you use to describe L&C?
Thoughtful, green, exciting

Why did you choose Lewis & Clark?
I chose Lewis & Clark when I saw the campus for the first time. I was lucky enough to visit during the fall of my senior year and fell in love with the forest surrounding the college. I have never seen so much lichen in my life, and I can’t wait to live in the midst of such an incredible ecosystem. When I sat in on a neurobiology class, I felt super engaged. The decision to attend Lewis & Clark came easily to me. I look forward to joining a running club or any activity that involves the outdoors.

Why did you choose Lewis & Clark?
The amazing combo of being in a big city but also in close proximity to the outdoors. The ability to study all kinds of things as part of the liberal arts experience. The cool vibe of the school in general. I’m super excited about the outdoor programs for hiking and climbing.

What three words would you use to describe L&C?
Outgoing, welcoming, dedicated

Why did you choose L&C?
From my first contact with the school, I felt the welcoming community and atmosphere. When I visited campus, it felt so comfortable and took the anxiety out of my college search. During the application process, I worked with [Senior Assistant Dean of Admissions] Lauren Brown and I think that even before I visited campus, the connection with her and my communication with the school seemed much less generic and uncomfortable than other colleges. Meetings seemed more like conversations than uptight interviews.

What impressed you the most during your campus visit?
The enthusiasm of our tour guide, how green the campus was, and how livable the dorms looked. I was also impressed by how friendly the students and faculty were.

What three words would you use to describe L&C?
Adventurous, intentional, open-minded

Why did you choose Lewis & Clark?
As soon as I walked onto campus when I toured in April, I felt a sense of belonging. The people are interested and engaged, the campus reminds me of a fairy house, and Portland is super dynamic and crazy (in a good way). I choose L&C because everything felt right about it.

What three words would you use to describe L&C?
Welcoming, opportune, collaborative

Why did you choose L&C?
I chose Lewis & Clark for a number of reasons: the location, the beautiful campus, the welcoming atmosphere, the quality of education, the wide range of majors, the endless opportunities. During the college selection process, I was most impressed by L&C’s ability to seamlessly intertwine every aspect of the college experience. The combination of individuality/personal growth and community/collective growth is what ultimately led me to choose L&C. I wanted to find a place I would be able to thrive alongside individuals that were not only attempting to better themselves, but also lift those around them, and I believe that I found that place in Lewis & Clark.
