Comings and Goings Update: Get to Know Alex Ray

Several people have joined the community recently, and some continuing employees have taken on new roles and responsibilities at Lewis & Clark.

This summer, Alex Ray joined the HR Team as the Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) Analyst.

Get to know Alex in the following Q&A, and see the full Comings and Goings Update below.
Tell us a little about your background.

I grew up in NE Portland but I lived in New York City for many years working for Hunter College, part of the City University of New York system. Now my wife and I are back in SE and living the Portland life!

How did you first learn about Lewis & Clark?

Beyond Lewis & Clark being a Portland institution, my stepfather received his undergraduate from the College of Arts and Sciences. Growing up I attended many summer day camps on campus.

What is your role as HRIS Analyst?

I am primarily responsible for the upkeep and development of our HRIS system, Workday.

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?

I spend a lot of my spare time painting and animating. Also, I try to make it out to the coast as often as possible.
