Recovery Group for Survivors of Unwanted Sexual Experiences

Open to all LC students, gender identities, sexual orientations, races/ethnicities and abilities.
When: Group will start mid-October and run through the end of semester. Tuesdays 4:30-6:00pm (if you are interested but can’t make this time, please let us know in case of time change)
What: Free educational and therapeutic support group for people seeking support and skills focused on reducing the impact of unwanted sexual experiences/sexual trauma on their lives.
This group will provide an opportunity for survivors to connect with each other and explore issues that are coming up for them as they navigate their lives. Combination of discussion, information, and activities to help group members explore new ways to handle distressing thoughts and feelings, expand on coping strategies, share experiences, learn how to create a greater sense of safety and connectedness with self and others, and focus on the opportunity to gain greater understanding of how trauma may be resolved to reduce negative impact. Requires a pre-group appointment (20 – 30 minutes) to discuss the structure and purpose of the group.
