L&C Donates 5,000 N95 Masks to OHSU

Lewis & Clark Facilities Services workers delivered a donation of 5,000 N95 3M masks and 2,500 pairs of gloves to Oregon Health & Science University.

Lewis & Clark Facilities Services workers delivered a donation of 5,000 N95 3M masks and 2,500 pairs of gloves to Oregon Health & Science University yesterday.

As Oregon’s nurses at many hospitals report they have less than a week left of gear to protect them, the donation was received with a smile.

“As you can imagine, the OHSU rep was very excited to hear from us,” Interim Occupational Health and Safety Officer Jason Holmgren said. “Health-care workers are under unbelievable pressure right now and anything we can do to help them perform their critical role is important.”

Director of the Health Service Margaret Upton came up with the idea to donate masks after receiving a request for donations from Portland’s Chamber of Commerce.

Lewis & Clark still has a supply of masks and gloves in its emergency reserves.
