IME Director Angela Gintz to Depart L&C

Angela Gintz, director of Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement, will depart Lewis & Clark to become the Campus Director of Equity Education and Programming at Washington State University Vancouver, Vice President for Student Life Robin Holmes-Sullivan announced today. Assistant Director of Inclusion and Multicultural Dominique Gardner will become the interim director, effective July 1.

“Angela has played a pivotal role in the lives of so many students at LC–she will be missed greatly. I am so fortunate to have worked with her and she brought so much expertise, energy and thoughtfulness to the Division of Student Life. I am particularly grateful for the work she co-led on the LC Campus Engagement project that will result in a re-imagined student experience and renovated Templeton Student Union. Her work on this project was invaluable. I will miss her but am excited for her future,” Holmes-Sullivan said.

At WSU Vancouver Gintz will work alongside the Associate Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion to coordinate professional development efforts for faculty and staff, known as Building a Community of Equity Professional Development program (BaCE). She will also teach a few sections in a course designed for first year student success and transition. She joined Lewis & Clark in 2013 as an Area Director for Stewart, Odell, and Akin halls in Campus Living.

“I will miss the Lewis & Clark community because it has been my professional home for the last seven years, and I have witnessed the resilience of this campus. I have learned so much working with such intelligent and passionate students, especially those in the Great Expectations mentor program and student affinity groups. Special thanks to the Division of Student Life for all the incredible work they do in ensuring the success of all students, and for all the ways they have inspired me over the years. I’m still local so don’t be a stranger!”

In lieu of a going away event, Angela invites you to reach out directly to her as you like prior to her last day on June 11, 2020.
