IT Service Desk Update

In our continuing efforts to support the technical needs of the college while helping to protect visitors, students, and staff, we will be implementing some changes upon reopening the IT Service Desk.

In our continuing efforts to support the technical needs of the college while helping to protect visitors, students, and staff, we will be implementing the following changes upon reopening the IT Service Desk.

Service Desk:

The IT Service Desk is a high traffic area. Therefore, we would like to try and limit walk-ups to students only. We would prefer all staff and faculty to either call us at 503-768-7225 or send us an email at itservice@lclark.edu. For those of you who do find it necessary to drop by, our student workers will open a work order on your behalf and route it to the appropriate group. Troubleshooting at the front counter will be limited.

Equipment Checkout:

Loaner equipment can be reserved ahead of time at http://lclark.siso.co/. The online system will allow you to select a specific pickup window. When it’s time to return your items, we will have a designated area for you to drop off your equipment. This will allow you to avoid any lines and limit the need for additional contact. In addition, we will be limiting checkout to essential items only. This list will include such things as Chromebooks, laptops, cameras, calculators, chargers, adapters, voice recorders, etc. Non-essentials items such as game consoles, video games, speakers, and headphones will no longer be available for checkout.

Resource Lab:

Access to the Resource Lab will remain closed but we will continue to print posters for students and leave them directly outside of the Resource Lab at the designated poster pickup area. Departmental printing will continue to be handled by the Print Center (Paw Print) located on the first floor of Howard. The turnaround time for student print requests is 2-3 business days.

Editing Suites:

As we reopen, only one person at a time will be allowed in each editing suite. Suites can be booked for up to 8 hours at a time.

As with most departments around campus, we ask that you help maintain social distancing at all times and wear a face mask when visiting the IT Service Desk. Again, your safety, and the safety of our students, is a top priority as we continue to do what we can to assist you with your technical hurdles and requests during this time.
