Happy Monday, Students!
I hope your mini-break last week gave you what you needed to get to the semester finish line, which is fast approaching. Before we get to the COVID updates, I want to call your attention to our weekly testing clinics, and to optional exit testing near the end of the semester.
We have four weekly testing clinics remaining: tomorrow, March 30; and on April 6, 13, and 20. Rather than hosting a weekly clinic on Tuesday, April 27, we will be standing up an optional exit-testing clinic for students interested in having a test result ahead of traveling. More information, and signups, will be posted soon.
The community continues to show reliable adherence to public health practices, as evidenced by our testing results:

COVID-19 cases: Due to the second mini-break early last week, we did not conduct a COVID testing clinic last Tuesday. For the month of March, of the 1,350 tests conducted on campus, there was only one positive test, a positivity rate of 0.07 percent.

Effluent testing results: Residence hall effluent testing results for last week showed negative (non-detect) results across all testing locations and samples.

Vaccine update: Last week, the Oregon Health Authority revised its timeline for when Oregonians (including all LC students) are eligible for vaccination. All members of the Lewis & Clark community are encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as eligible. We are working with Multnomah County health authorities and others to determine whether Lewis & Clark can become a vaccine administrator for our own current community members. It is not yet clear whether or when we will be able to do so. In the meantime, please use the OHA’s website and other healthcare resources available to you to get vaccinated as soon as you are able.
