One L&C ChamPIOn - Reggie Raiford

One co-worker called Reggie “the backbone of the Law School” as he is always on the ground to handle the needs of faculty, staff and students. After reviewing nominations, the committee has selected Reggie as the One L&C ChamPIOn for the third week of April.

It is not an exaggeration to say that little would happen on the Law School campus without Reginald (Reggie) Raiford. Reggie started working at Lewis & Clark over 21 years ago when he spent two years as a Bon Appétit Evening Manager before accepting a Maintenance Worker position with Law School Facilities. Known across campuses for his kindness and calm demeanor, Reggie is a symbol of everything right about Lewis & Clark. He truly cares about helping students, and is always lightening their mood with his bright smile. He works hard to ensure every event or maintenance project goes off without a hitch. After reviewing nominations, the committee has selected Reggie as the One L&C ChamPIOn for the third week of April.

One co-worker called Reggie “the backbone of the Law School” as he is always on the ground to handle the needs of faculty, staff and students. His favorite part of the job, working events, has been impacted heavily due to COVID restrictions. He misses the people of Lewis & Clark and is looking forward to a time when events like the PILP Auction and Drag Show can be held in person again. Right now he’s excited to be preparing for the small graduation ceremonies where 10 students at a time will be honored. He wanted to say thanks to his partner, Brett Buckley, who he met and has been with since the year he started here (1999). And of course, we have to shout-out his adorable dog Bandit, who is famous whenever he is on campus.

We’re thankful for Reggie and his many years of service, and are happy to highlight his work, and the important role he plays in making Lewis & Clark feel like a family.
