Vaccinations Required for New Student Trips

In order to participate in a New Student Trip (NST) in 2021, all participants must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

In order to participate in a New Student Trip (NST) in 2021, all participants must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or have an official medical exemption from LC.

We’re asking that Proof of Covid-19 vaccination (your vax card) be submitted by June 30th, 2021, in the form of an image of your vaccination card uploaded to the Patient Portal. If you will not be able to obtain the final dose in any series (2nd dose for Pfizer or Moderna, one dose for Johnson & Johnson) by June 30th, please contact us at outdoors@lclark.edu. We can extend the vaccination card submission deadline on a case-by-case basis, as long as the final vaccine dose is administered no later than Aug. 1st, 2021.

If you do not have access to a vaccine, please contact us at outdoors@lclark.edu

If you will be obtaining an official medical exemption from vaccination from LC, the exemption application must be submitted to LC for review by June 30th, 2021.

More info about exemptions can be found here, but the timeline for New Student Trips is different: in order to participate in a New Student Trip your exemption must be approved by August 1st (not October 15th). Any student who has received an exemption will be required to provide a negative Covid-19 test result within 72 hrs of the beginning of their trip.

Due to the close-contact nature of these optional trips, non-medical exemptions will not be accepted for participation.

All trip participants and leaders are required to be fully vaccinated prior to the trips, unless they have been formally granted a medical exemption from LC. This will allow us to offer the best experience possible for all involved, and set you up for a fun and healthy trip!

With everyone involved in trips fully vaccinated, we hope to offer as normal of a trip experience as possible. However, it is possible that some Covid-19 mitigation measures will still be in place. We’ll keep trip participants up to date as we know more.
