2021 Fall Semester Parking Information

Please look over the following information related to parking and commuting to campus. We expect to be at full capacity during peak hours and encourage drivers to arrive early and budget additional time for parking. Parking permits will be required for all vehicles parked on campus beginning Wednesday, September 1.

  • Portland is one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the country, and members of the Lewis & Clark community bike to campus year round.

The Office of Transportation and Parking is dedicated to managing a shared resource and providing transportation alternatives to access the Lewis & Clark campus. Parking can be very limited at times during the week. To help alleviate congestion, Transportation and Parking user fees fund the Pioneer Express shuttle service and discounted Trimet transit passes for students and staff. Our department strongly encourages all community members to consider using alternative transportation to get to campus. Purchasing a parking permit does not guarantee you a parking space.

  • Pioneer Express: Full weekday Pioneer Express service and weekend service will begin Monday, August 30, 2021 – . Weekend shuttle schedule along with other shuttle service information can be found on our Shuttle Service page. ( Note-weekend schedule subject to change)

FALL 2021 (Update 8/13/21)

The Pio express will return to full pre-Covid operations starting August 30, 2021.

Please continue to check for updates with regard to any Covid restrictions moving forward.

  • Trimet Bus Pass (Hop Cards): Trimet monthly bus passes are sold at a 75% discount for $25 per month. 10-pack single ride ticket books are also available for $6.25. Refer to the TriMet section on parking website for detailed program information.
  • Carpool: All you need to know about carpooling to Lewis & Clark, including help in finding a carpool/rideshare partner can be found here. Please consider using Oregon’s Get There carpool matching tool.
  • Parking permits: Permits will go on sale August 7, 2021 for staff, faculty, off campus students, and resident juniors/seniors. Resident sophomores can buy permits on August 10. Parking permits will be required for all vehicles parked on campus beginning Wednesday, September 1.

To purchase your permit or bus pass please go to: Log in using your LC username and password. Day passes will be available online and from the parking lot kiosks beginning Monday, August 30.

If you only purchase day passes from the parking lot kiosk you must acquire a vehicle registration at: Parking an unregistered vehicle on campus is a violation of the Transportation & Parking Rules & Regulations. Unregistered vehicles will be cited.

Again, parking on campus is a challenge during the school year. We have only 1,338 spaces available for over 2,500 students and approximately 700 full time faculty and staff. Purchasing a parking permit will not guarantee you a parking space. Consider using an alternative way to get to campus such as Trimet, Pioneer Express Shuttle, carpooling, biking, or walking. Huston Field, St. Marks church and South campus (on the Grad School) are available for overflow parking, we strongly encourage commuters to utilize these locations when the main campus is full.
