Bao Ngoc Tong Awarded with NASP Minority Scholarship

The NASP-ERT Minority Scholarship aims to support recipients by “lowering the financial barriers to training and highlighting the accomplishments of promising future professionals.”

The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) has introduced the new recipients of the NASP-ERT Minority Scholarship and named current student Bao Ngoc Tong (EdS, School Psychology ’22) among them. According to NASP’s website, the NASP-ERT Minority Scholarship aims to support recipients by “lowering the financial barriers to training and highlighting the accomplishments of promising future professionals.” The program provides a $5,000 scholarship along with a commitment to mentorship through Tong’s journey.

Tong joined the graduate school community in 2019, having earned her Bachelor of Arts in Art Practices from Portland State University. She aims to leverage the support of the NASP-ERT Minority Scholarship in order to further her mission of bridging special education and general education for new coming families of the United States and other underserved groups, and hopes to continue her path in higher education by pursuing a doctoral degree and gaining the opportunity to contribute to the field of psychology internationally.
