Transitions in the Office of Human Resources

The Office of Human Resources has been busy with numerous staff transitions. See the new faces, new titles and a few farewells.

 

Who is new in HR?

 

John Beix joined the HR team in March 2021 as the Associate Director of HR. Prior to joining Lewis & Clark, John worked for the City of Portland to cultivate meaningful relationships, train and act as a mentor.

 

Nadia Mannai Nadia MannaiNadia Mannai joined the HR team in December 2021 as an administrative assistant. Prior to joining Lewis & Clark, Nadia provided several years of outstanding service to the Oregon Culinary Institute.

Matt Cook started January 4, 2022 as the generalist and benefits manager. Matt comes to Lewis & Clark after several years of relevant experience at Standard Insurance. He will be taking on many of the responsibilities currently performed by Kris Codron.

 

David Nickerson has returned to provide temporary support in the role of staff and student employment coordinator.

 

Who has left HR?

Kris Codron Kris CodronAfter 16 1/2 years at Lewis & Clark, Kris Codron is retiring. During her tenure, Kris has held several roles within the HR department, including associate director and benefits, leave and training manager.

“Kris Codron’s institutional knowledge, expertise, compassion, and sense of humor have been invaluable,” Associate Vice President and Director of Human Resources Heyke Kirkendall-Baker said. “Kris will be extremely missed. We wish her the very best of luck.”

Toa Suruki Toa SurukiToa Suruki joined the HR department in September 2020 as an administrative assistant. Toa did a fantastic job helping the HR department navigate the challenges presented in 2020 and 2021. On October 14, 2021, Toa accepted a position here within the President’s office as an administrative associate.
