Alexandra Guillot Selected as 2022-23 International Law Research Fellow
Alex will provide research support to the Committee and to individual faculty members on issues involving diverse fields within international law.

The International Law Committee is pleased to announce the selection of Alexandra Guillot, 3L, as International Law Research Fellow for the 2022-23 academic year. In her capacity as Fellow, Alex will provide research support to the Committee and to individual faculty members on issues involving diverse fields within international law, including international business, dispute resolution, environmental law, and animal law.
Alex obtained her undergraduate degree from McGill University in Montreal, with a major in political science and dual minors in anthropology and social entrepreneurship. Before coming to law school, she gained experience in several different positions, including as a sustainable development intern for a local government administration in France, and as a research assistant for a New York State Assemblyman. In the latter capacity she researched and wrote memoranda on various topics, including privacy laws and healthcare, worker protections, and other legal issues.
At Lewis & Clark Law, Alex has focused her studies on the intersection between international and environmental law. Last year she served as a research assistant to Professor Lisa Benjamin, providing input on such matters as climate justice, climate-induced displacement, and the obligations of businesses associated with climate-related harms. She is also working on an independent study project that examines how Canadian constitutional law could help remedy environmental injustices to a First Nations community living near a cluster of polluting facilities.
