Update to LiveWhale CMS software

Scheduled for November 16, 2022.

This November we are planning to upgrade the LiveWhale CMS software running the lclark.edu website. This update comes with major changes under the hood, but also quite a few that you might notice in your everyday work as editors. Below are a few highlights:

  • Monthly upgrades: with the advent of version 2.x, now LiveWhale will have regular patches and other updates approximately every month
  • Improved group switching: editors who are in multiple groups will now be more easily able to filter and change groups (including showing the latest groups you used first in the list)
  • Improved event emails: you now will have more power in creating the emails that are associated with your events, for instance when someone RSVPs
  • Blurb images: blurbs now will be able to have featured images, like stories and profiles
  • Copy pages: editors will now be able to duplicate pages in the dashboard
  • Clearer widget icons: when editing, you will see more more information about a widget in its little blue box, including any customized inline settings.

You can read more detailed release notes from LiveWhale. And if you have any questions, contact Morgan Grether, director of new media.
