The ONE L&C employee engagement committee promotes recreational activities to help make a positive impact and build cohesiveness among employees. Below is a summary of current fitness opportunities on campus. Please email email@example.com if you notice we’ve missed something or have any questions.
Calling all tennis enthusiasts and workout cravers! Join your fellow employees for an in-person tennis session in the tennis dome. Beginners and pros alike, are all welcome! We’ll spend 30-45 minutes working up a sweat while learning some of the basics with your fellow Pioneers! It’s a great way to prep for all the goodness of the holiday season!
HIIT Fitness w/ Natasha Richmond (zoom only)
Join us for a weekly HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workout that you can do from the confines of your own space! This workout will include modifications for those getting started and will hopefully challenge all others!!!! Join us live via Zoom here!
Dance like nobody’s looking.
“Swingercise” is led by Melissa Roane, of the Watzek Library staff, on Thursdays at 12:35 in the Pamplin Activity (Mat) Room 019. Melissa guides an informal group of employees in steps and notions from the Charleston to the Jitterbug era. It is mostly cardio-dance, and Melissa will also infuse mini-history and some technique in vernacular jazz.
Are you the Real Dill or maybe just in a Pickle for finding a great workout alternative? We’re looking for all staff/faculty who would like to learn the game or sharpen their skills against some of this campus’ best talents. An awesome opportunity to meet peers while playing a game that we can all have fun at! Bring your own paddle or use ours. Court appropriate shoes (non-marking) required. Meet in the tennis dome on Mondays at noon. Erin Labasan and/or Jimmy Chau will be there to facilitate! Email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive pickleball reminders and updates.
