Inga Spencer BA ’73, MAT ’78 and Marie Maita Grant BS ’73, MAT ’79 earned their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Lewis & Clark during the same time period. “We have been lifelong friends, both working in education,” says Spencer. “At graduation, my name was Ann Inga Matteson (from Indiana), and hers was Marie Vidette Maita (from California). We ended up in Akin Hall our junior year and later moved to a coed dorm during our senior year. Ten days after we graduated, we were both hired to teach at Rowe Junior High School in Milwaukie, Oregon.”
