Managing Menopause ERG Kicks Off with a Power Surge
The focus of this Employee Resource Group is around the physical and psychological issues surrounding menopause.
The Managing Menopause Employee Resource Group (ERG) held its introductory meeting on April 16 with more than 20 employees from all three schools at the table.
“Every seat at the table was filled with women looking for support through this intense thing called Menopause,” Director of Internal Communications and Menopause ERG Co-founder Vanessa Holmgren said. “We talked about the pain and suffering we have in common, and laughed a lot together because it turns out good humor is a daily coping mechanism.”
The group discussed health concerns—from hot flashes to frozen shoulder (yes, that’s a real thing)—created a Google shared drive to be able to share resources, and identified an opportunity to hold an event on campus for “World Menopause Day” on Friday, October 18, 2024.
But don’t wait until fall semester to learn more!
The next Managing Menopause ERG meeting will be held at noon on Tuesday, June 25 in the Watzek Library classroom. A Zoom link will be made available for those who cannot attend in person. All identities are welcome and encouraged to participate.
