1952 Rally Squad Reunion

A couple of years ago, I hosted my own mini-reunion in Albany Quadrangle with my 1951-52 L&C rally squad.
Back then, Hank Kohlhoff ’53 and I were Yell Kings. Hank was admired as the best dancer on campus. He had natural ability.
Our Rally Girls were the very first cheer leaders among all Oregon colleges and/or universities to do dance routines.
Hank and I did all sorts of gymnastics stunts, round-off back handsprings etc. The gals helped us do the cheers and did their famous dance routines.
This 1952 photo was taken during our Homecoming Parade. The parade started in the North Park Blocks of downtown Portland and traveled up Broadway to our pep rally held at (I believe it was) the Paramount Theater. The theater offered a free movie for all attending.
In the 1952 photo are: Hank, Me, Betty Lake Martell ’53, Joanne Burt Paulson ’55, Ruthie Bernau Engel ’51, Helen Doig West ’54, Patt Blakely Logue ’53, and Pat Kephart Young ’54.
In he reunion photo taken at L&C are: Betty, Ruthie, Helen, Pat, Hank, Patt, and Joanne (Pat Kephart was unable to make it).
