Exciting news from the Student Life Division

Exciting News from the Student Life Division

Please join me in congratulating Celestino Limas, dean of students and chief diversity officer, and Kerry Foxx, assistant director of the Center for Career and Community Engagement, as they have been selected as the recipients of both the Scott Goodnight Award for Outstanding Dean and Outstanding New Professional Award representing region V of NASPA!

For those who do not know, NASPA is a professional organization that many student affairs professionals are members of, including many of us within the division of student life. Our region, region V, consists of institutions of higher education within the following states and Canada: Washington, Oregon, Utah, Alaska, Idaho, Alberta, Nevada, Montana and British Columbia. Having served on the committee that reads and decides on the recipients of each award, I know that the two categories both Celestino and Kerry were nominated in are always highly sought after and have the most nominations.

The fact that two of our very own have been recognized in this way is something we should all be proud of and celebrate as it shows our colleagues that the student life division at Lewis & Clark College is committed and dedicated to our students and our profession.

We are fortunate because this year the conference where the awards will be presented to both Celestino and Kerry will be held right here in Portland! If you would like to attend the awards luncheon please send me an email by Friday, Oct. 22 and I will get you a ticket. The NASPA Region V & VI Conference will be held November 3-6 at the waterfront Marriott located in Downtown Portland. The awards luncheon is on Friday, Nov. 5 at 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. More information about the conference is available online.

Congratulations again to both Celestino and Kerry, I am so glad that two members of our student life staff are being recognized for all the good work we do here at Lewis & Clark College.

Please do not forget to let me know if you are interested in attending the luncheon!

Thanks,
