Bernice Stewart BS ’49

Bernice Stewart BS ’49, September 13, 2018, age 89. After earning a master’s degree in zoology from the University of Washington in 1952, Stewart began her career at Western Washington University in Bellingham. Over the course of her career, she also worked at the University of Maryland and Montgomery College. Eventually, when her children were older, she earned a doctorate in zoology and biochemistry fronm the University of Maryland. Stewart then became a professor at Prince George’s Community College, where she taught for 20 years. Survivors include her children, Glenn, McDonald, and Janet; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
