Joanne Tzouvalopoulos Beck

Joanne Beck BA ʼ83 started a new position as chief operating officer at Boston Pharmaceuticals in December 2019. She continues to serve on the board of directors for Orchard Therapeutics and Catabasis Pharmaceuticals. Beck is passionate about bringing medicines to patients with unmet medical needs and promoting diversity and inclusion in the biotech industry. Beck and her husband, Stuart Beck BS ’83, live in Boston. Stuart is the head of adult inpatient psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Joanne Beck BA ’83 and Stuart Beck BS ’83 became grandparents in May 2019. They now spend most of their free time worshipping their lovely granddaughter, Eleni Alice Beck. Near the end of 2019, Joanne started a new position as chief operating officer of Boston Pharmaceuticals, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based biotech start-up. Joanne also serves on the board of directors for both Orchard Therapeutics and Catabasis Pharmaceuticals. Stuart is director of adult inpatient psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital and assistant clinical professor at Harvard Medical School.

Joanne Beck BA ’83 was named to the board of directors of Catabasis Pharmaceuticals. She brings 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical development, having served as executive vice president of global pharmaceutical development and operations at Celgene.
