Emily Meacham Austin

Emily Austin BA ’91, who was ordained as a deacon in October 2018, has been assigned to serve at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle. The process included earning 400 clinical pastoral education hours at a nursing home and hospice center as well as completing three years of theological studies. Her full-time employer was accommodating with flexible hours in order to accomplish this goal. She is actively involved in hunger and homelessness projects in western Washington.
