Cost: $50 - $750. Need-based financial aid is applied on a sliding scale for those who qualify. Vegan and non-medical specialty diets have an additional $30 charge. Vegetarian diets and food allergies do not have an additional fee.

Here’s your chance to get to know the beautiful mountains near Lewis & Clark College! You’ll visit one of the spectacular hiking areas in the Cascade Mountain range in Oregon or Washington, all within a few hours from campus. Depending on trail conditions, fire danger, and other factors in late August, the trip leader will choose an area to backpack on trails located around Mt Hood, Mt St Helens, or Mt Adams. Expect to cover four to eight miles per day on moderate to steep trails, and discover sweeping views of Cascade volcanoes, hidden swimming holes, and awe-inspiring forests.
