Intro to Stand-Up Paddleboard Afternoon
- People sitting on a stand-up paddleboard
Join us for an afternoon of Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUPing) at nearby Estacada Lake, where you can learn the basics of SUPing and enjoy some afternoon sun. We’ll start with a lesson on how to maneuver and balance a SUP, then explore the beautiful lakeside Doug Fir forests while trying to spot local trout and great blue heron. SUPing is a great paddle activity for beginners, and a lot of fun for all levels! We will depart campus in the early afternoon and return in the evening in time for dinner. Snacks, but no meals, are provided on this trip, so be sure to eat lunch beforehand. The trip will be cancelled and your money refunded in case of inclement weather.

No experience necessary! We’ll teach you everything you need to know, and SUPing is a great option for beginners. The distance paddled and time on the water will be tailored to the group and weather conditions.
We’ll plan to spend a couple hours on the water, either sitting, standing, or kneeling on a floating paddleboard. Paddling uses full range of motion in the upper body and requires some balance. Swimming ability is not required since you will be wearing a Personal Floatation Device (aka, a lifejacket), but you should be comfortable in deep water.
