Jacob Weiss

Jacob Weiss BA ’16 received the $25,000 first prize at the Tufts University Friedman School entrepreneurship competition. His project, launching in 2021, is called the Sacramento Valley Food Hub. The Hub connects small, beginning farmers to anchor institutions in Sacramento, California. The food distribution platform leverages blockchain to increase transparency in the supply chain, improves market share for small farmers, and increases food access in underserved neighborhoods. Jacob Weiss BA ’16 has earned a master’s degree from Tufts University Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. At the commencement ceremony, Weiss was recognized for his commitment to civic engagement with his induction into the university’s 2020 Honos Civicus Society.
