Stacy Thompson ’79

In addition to her role as a current trustee, Stacy is also a member of the Lewis & Clark Board of Alumni and serves on their administration and equity and inclusion committees.

Stacy holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Lewis & Clark College. She also has a master’s degree in early childhood education and a doctorate of education in educational leadership from Mills College. Stacy is a lifelong resident of the Oakland/East Bay community with more than 25 years of experience in higher education. As an educator, she has dedicated her life’s work to supporting education as a practice of freedom with a focus on addressing issues of disenfranchisement and exclusion. She mentors faculty, staff and administrators who wish to advance their careers in the California community college system and has a long history of promoting a social justice agenda.

Stacy is married to Martin Thompson, and they have two adult sons, Chad and Brandon.
