Sarah Schaefer BA ’14 was sworn in as a member of the Arcata (California) City Council in December 2020. She earned her teaching credential from Humboldt State University and has spent the years since teaching high school history and volunteering in the local community. During her tenure on the city council, Schaefer says she plans to focus on issues surrounding affordable housing and homelessness.
