Allison Meyer BA ’01 pens this examination of the disparate coverage of royal women in early modern historical writings. Within this scholarly work, Meyer challenges prevailing notions of the relationships between historical writings and their source material, explaining and studying the ways in which women’s portrayal in many of these historical works suggests the writers’ interest in and value of the women’s political impact, particularly in the field of historical plays.
