William Winner BA ’70, MAT ’73 writes: “After getting my degrees from L&C, I did another master’s degree and PhD in biology. I was a postdoc at Stanford for four years, then an assistant professor at Virginia Tech. After working at Oregon State University, I was assigned to the National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C., for four years. I then worked at North Carolina State University and Duke Kunshan University (DKU) at Murray. At all my stops, I worked on building new research centers and new academic programs in environmental sciences. The work I did at DKU in China is important to me as a small effort to help the two superpowers align with interests from all nations.”
