Friendship, unity, and acceptance should be the building blocks of every community that strives to lead its members towards a feeling of belonging. It may sometimes be hard for international students to adapt to a brand new environment, which is exactly where the work of the ISLC comes in. Our goal is to help every international student find their place in this community and make sure that everyone feels safe and proud of who they are. I have been a student of an international boarding school for two years prior to coming to Lewis & Clark and I have pretty good knowledge of how international students may feel in a foreign environment. In my first two years of high school, I have been the vice-president of the student government during which I organized many events within and outside the school which gave me enough experience to apply for this position.
