Jason Simms BA ’06 founded Theirsay, a public relations firm, in 2013. The firm received two Mercury Awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Greater Connecticut Chapter in December 2023. Theirsay received a silver in the External Communications category and a bronze in the Research/Evaluation category. Both awards were for the firm’s work with The Dyrt, a camping accessibility and reviews app based in Portland. The silver award was for overall campaign, and the bronze award was for the 2023 Camping Report, a comprehensive guide to the camping industry that was cited by media more than 500 times in outlets such as Reader’s Digest, USA Today, and many more. Jason Simms BA ’06 was named to the 2022 Hartford Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty list of business leaders in Connecticut.
