Richard Church

Richard Church BS ’70 attended graduate school at Johns Hopkins University, where he studied environmental engineering. He joined the faculty there and advanced to associate professor. In 1981, he was recruited by the University of California at Santa Barbara, where he is now a distinguished professor emeritus. In 2022, Church was elected to membership in the National Academy of Sciences, a prestigious accomplishment in the life of a scientist.
