Amy Brose BA ’97 reports that, after a 15-year career as an acupuncturist, she has shifted to nursing. She graduated from the OHSU School of Nursing in June 2021. During the nursing program, she was a Veterans Affairs Nursing Academic Partnership Scholar. Brose completed all of her clinical coursework at the Portland VA Medical Center, working with veterans. COVID-19 made school and work at the VA tough, but her cohort graduated, even managing to complete the required in-person clinical hours. After completing a one-year post-baccalaureate nursing residency at the VA, she began an O.R. nursing/day surgery job this fall. She lives in Portland with her partner, Dave, and their two cats. Brose is a volunteer climb leader with the Mazamas and loves to climb and backpack on her local mountains. She and Dave love cycling together and recently returned from a cycling tour in Portugal.
