Andrew Beckham

Andrew Beckham BA ’98, MAT ’01, along with his father, Stephen Dow Beckham, Pamplin Professor Emeritus of History, run Beckham Estate Winery, in Sherwood, Oregon. In August 2023, the winery was named by Wine Enthusiast magazine as one of the eight must-visit Willamette Valley wineries.

Andrew Beckham BA ’98, MAT ’01, a high school ceramics teacher, makes wine with grapes he grows on his property. He also makes amphora, which are vessels made of terra cotta for aging wine. Beckham is perfecting his technique and hopes to soon craft a pot that can hold 250 gallons of wine. A pot that large would weigh 2,000 pounds.
