Biography

Jessica Den Houter is an Assistant Professor of Lawyering at Lewis and Clark. Prior to joining the faculty, she served as a visiting professor and the acting director of the Bronfein Family Law Clinic, an in-house live-client clinic providing legal representation in the area of family law at the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Before beginning her teaching career, Den Houter worked as a public interest attorney advocating for and litigating on behalf of individuals with mental illness and developmental disabilities at Disability Rights DC. Additionally, she worked as an associate at the DC Affordable Law Firm (DCALF), where she focused on enhancing access to civil justice for low-to-moderate-income D.C. residents, handling a wide range of family law and immigration cases.
