David G. Ellis
Vice President, Secretary and General Counsel
David left a career in private practice to join Lewis & Clark Law School as its director of business law programs in 2000, and soon after became the associate dean for administration of the law school. While at the law school, David taught Business Principles for Law Students and created a joint course for MBA students from Portland State University and law students to examine the teamwork required between business professionals and their counsel, oversaw the creation of the Community Development Law Clinic affiliation with the law school, and planted the early seeds for what has now become the Small Business Legal Clinic. When, in 2003, the institution decided to create the Office of General Counsel, David was excited to be the first to serve in the role he still occupies today.
