College Outdoors

Seren Villwock

Trip Leader, Warehouse Staff

I’m from Austin, Texas, but I grew up in the Sierra Nevada foothills, and love being back in the forest. I am an aspiring naturalist who especially loves learning about the little things in the world around me. On campus, I work with the natural history collection and as a resident advisor in the Holistic Wellness Living-Learning community. I also co-founded a nonprofit that empowers children affected by war in northern Uganda through training in sustainable agriculture. Backpacking is my favorite way to experience the outdoors because I love having everything I need with me on my back. I’m planning to through-hike the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019.

My favorite thing about CO is how it gives opportunities for people to connect with nature and with each other. There are so many incredible places in the Pacific Northwest that students can access because of CO trips. I love getting to share the beautiful experiences with strangers who quickly become friends.
