Margie Willis BA ’75 was featured in the Oregonian on July 18, 2021, in an article reporting on Oregon’s law that prohibits health care organizations from mandating vaccinations for employees. Oregon is the only state with this restriction. As a patient with multiple health issues and the need for frequent medical visits, Willis expressed her dismay in not feeling adequately protected in health care settings. She urged health care providers to seriously consider patient vulnerabilities and get vaccinated.

Margie Willis BA ’75 spent her career in field botany, natural resource land management, endangered species protection, and biology education. Her favorite job was leading natural history tours in Costa Rica for the Audubon Society. Willis continues to get together with Kate Persons BA, Joan Williams BA, Carolyn “Pooky” Wright BA, Carol Savonen BA, Janet Schempf BA, and Kate Moitoret BA ’74 to explore the outdoors.
