Sara Bagheri JD ’07

Sara Bagheri JD ’07 was elected to the city council of Denton, Texas. Bagheri has worked in community affairs since she returned to Denton in 2009 to practice law. She helped launch the popular Denton Community Market in 2010 as a founding board member and an attorney for the nonprofit group. Bagheri also served on the city’s Human Services Advisory Council from 2011 to 2013, was a member of the ad hoc committee that made recommendations in 2012 for the city’s smoking ban, and served as a commissioner on the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment from 2015 until her election to the city council.
