  • President’s Holiday Open House

    Leadership Society and Heritage Society

On December 13, more than 150 revelers descended on the Cooley House, the president’s residence, to celebrate the season. President Wim Wiewel and his wife, Alice, hosted the special gathering for those in the college’s Leadership Society and Heritage Society.

The Leadership Society recognizes donors giving $1,867 or more each year, while the Heritage Society and the law school’s Elliott Circle recognize donors who remember the college in their estate plans. These donors receive members-only invitations to special events—such as the President’s Holiday Open House—throughout the year. For more information, contact Stephen LeBoutillier BA ’00, director of annual giving, at or 503-768-7940.

  • Celebrating Pioneer Spirit

    Homecoming and Family Weekend

Nearly 1,000 people gathered on Palatine Hill to attend Homecoming and Family Weekend in October. We kicked off the weekend with the inauguration of Wim Wiewel as Lewis & Clark’s 25th president. The celebration continued as we cheered on Pioneer football; chowed down on alumni-made clam chowder at the tailgate; listened to student and alumni a cappella groups; and expanded our knowledge during faculty lectures. We also welcomed six new members to the Board of Alumni. Save the date for this fall’s Homecoming and Family Weekend, October 25–27.

  • On the Road in D.C.
On October 10, alumni, parents, and friends of Lewis & Clark enjoyed an evening with President Wim Wiewel at Busboys and Poets in Washington, D.C. Attendees, including Trustee Kent Swanson Sr. and his wife, Patricia (photo at left), also mingled with students currently in D.C. for the college’s off-campus study program.
