Emergency Management

Preparedness: Awareness

Emergency readiness is most effective when individuals are personally responsible for their own safety during and immediately after an incident. Lewis & Clark College provides training and education opportunities to inform community members of the risks posed by natural and human-caused hazards on a college campus in the Pacific Northwest, and how to prepare before disaster strikes.

Awareness initiatives at the College include:

  • Conspicuous posting of emergency response and evacuation procedures
  • Informational seminars and panels
  • Distribution of pocket-sized emergency cards to College community members
  • Formal emergency response training and certification opportunities
