The removal of the Templeton bridge and the construction of the new Howard bridge are now complete. We are excited to share the final pictures with the Lewis & Clark community.
In the summer of 2017, a routine maintenance check revealed that the Templeton and Howard bridges were no longer structurally sound. In response, we developed a renovation project to ensure safety, environmental consciousness, cost efficiency, and convenience for the Lewis & Clark community. The Templeton bridge was removed from campus and the ADA pathway that it once provided has been replaced by another ADA pathway under the Council Chambers. However, the Howard bridge is essential to campus use and was rebuilt. The new bridge meets seismic and ADA requirements, includes a roof and night lighting, was sourced and manufactured locally, and was designed and installed to ensure sustainability.
On this page you can find the photos of the newly installed bridge. We hope that you can come and see this beautifully crafted bridge for yourself.
