Travel Medicine Clinic
The Travel Medicine Clinic provides education and immunization services to all students from the College of Arts and Sciences, the Law School and the Graduate School. Faculty and staff accompanying Lewis and Clark students may also use the services of the Travel Medicine Clinic. The goal of the Travel Medicine Clinic program is to assist travelers in maintaining good health while traveling, so that the traveler can maximize his/her experience abroad.
Services:
- Assessment of health care and immunization needs based on the traveler’s health history and travel itinerary
- Vaccinations available:
Hepatitis A Hepatitis B HPV vaccine Influenza Meningococcal Polio Typhoid Rabies Yellow Fever Measles, Mumps
Rubella (MMR)Japanese Encephalitis
Tetanus Diphtheria
Pertussis (Tdap) - Information on prevention and treatment of common illnesses and health concerns for areas identified on the traveler’s itinerary
- Prescriptions for prevention and treatment of illnesses such as traveler’s diarrhea, malaria, motion sickness, or altitude illness
- Laboratory services, including required blood and urine tests
- The returning student traveler may be seen in the clinic for follow-up care regarding illnesses and injuries incurred while traveling
- Tuberculosis screening
Fees
There are fees for vaccinations, medications, laboratory tests and tuberculosis screening.
Appointments
- Please make your appointment 4-6 months before you travel. Some vaccinations are given in a series over 6 months.
- Bring a record of your previous vaccinations.
- Bring information concerning ongoing medical conditions and/or medications you are taking.
- Bring your itinerary including areas of travel, dates and length of stay in each location.
