Offered every other month - TBD Pre-Hire Workshop Best practices for hiring managers, including determining the need for a position, PDQ creation, how pay is determined, the recruiting process, and how to expand outreach to increase diversity in the candidate pool HR/OEI 1.5
Work on own Review New Employee Onboarding materials on HR’s Supervisor Resource page and Required Training under New Employees
Session 3 - 10/1/19 - Albany 218 & 10/2/19 - Albany 220  9:30-11:30 Onboarding Best practices for integrating new employees into your department HR 2.0
  Prohibited Discrimination & Harassment, and Title IX Policies Reporting obligations, investigation process overview HR
Work on own Review BOLI Technical Assistance page (to be sent via email) including breaks, overtime, and other applicable information. Review Teamster and LCCSSA contracts (specific articles to be provided)
Session 4 - 11/5/19 - Albany 218 & 11/6/19 - Albany 220  9:30-11:30 Payroll regulations & responsibilities Payroll for different types of positions, breaks and final pay laws; overtime, schedules, breaks, pay differentials HR/Payroll 2.0
  Intro to Teamster & LCCSSA Contracts Overtime rules, work schedules, classification changes, discipline process, and role of Union stewards. HR
Work on own Review Leave of Absence processes on HR’s Supervisor Resources page and applicable forms for Accommodations, Leave of Absence and On the Job Injury on HR’s Forms page
Session 5 - 12/3/19 - Albany 218 & 12/4/19 - Albany 220  9:30-11:30 Leave Laws Basics of Leave Laws including responsibility of managers, protected leave process, separation from performance, avoiding retaliation and discrimination HR 2.0

Session 9 - May be completed at any time during the year. Offered Monthly - TBD Unconscious Bias Workshop In-depth discussion of unconscious and implicit bias. Raise personal awareness of biases through activities and offer solutions to work to address bias. Discussion of how biases come up in the hiring process as well as elsewhere in the workplace. OEI/HR 1.5

Session 10 - 5/5/20 - Albany 218 & 5/6/20 - Albany 220  9:30-11:30 Wrap up - Certificate Additional resources for professional development, bringing all skills together to manage employees, final questions and feedback. Certificate award for completion of series HR 2.0
