Events Audio/Visual Services
Events AV Services offers video recording and editing of professional lectures, conferences, symposiums, outdoor events, large scale music performances, and other campus events. In order to provide the best possible service, service requests must be received at least five business days prior to your event. A flat rate of $20 per hour will be charged for any recording or editing work, regardless of the amount of hours. If a deadline is missed, a rush service charge of $150 will be applied to cover costs for accelerated services. Events AV service requests received three business days or less will not be supported. Contact email@example.com or call 503-768-7293.
Faculty Classroom Recording Requests
Academic Operations offers training and support for the video recording of academic classes. Most of Lewis & Clark’s classrooms are equipped with computers, projectors, and DVD or Blu-Ray players, controlled by a Crestron touchpanel. Academic Operations services include:
- Classroom instructional technology equipment support
- Multimedia production services and facilities
- Consulting and training in media and presentation technology
For consultations, equipment reservations, or to report classroom problems, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 503-768-7225.
Public Affairs and Communications (PubCom) does not have a professional videographer on staff, but does hire student video production assistants to create content in-house. Our talented students collaborate with PubCom staff to create incredible content with extremely limited resources. You can see their work on Lewis & Clark’s YouTube channels:
We produce around ten videos per year with no dedicated budget, and we do not charge back for our services. We thus have to be extremely strategic when we choose our content. We keep these criteria in mind when creating our production calendar:
- Target audience: Admitted Lewis & Clark students and their families.
- Sustainability: Content should be relevant for at least 3-4 years.
- Equity and inclusion: Content strives to represent these values.
- Brand: Content should highlight what makes L&C stand out from its peers, and adhere to best practices/technical standards.
To submit an idea to PubCom for a marketing video, please submit your video production brief to describe the scope of your project.
If you have the budget to hire an outside company to create a video for your office or department, we’d love to lend our expertise to your project. We can recommend video production companies (including some run by L&C alumni!), help with storyboarding, or collaborate on your script. Give us a call or send an email to get the conversation started (503-768-7970 or email@example.com).
