If you are an undergraduate or law student electing coverage through the school sponsored insurance plan, you do not need to take any action. Students are afforded one opportunity in each academic year to waive the school’s coverage. If students do not submit an annual health insurance waiver, they will be automatically enrolled in coverage through the Student Health Insurance Plan. Therefore, by virtue of not submitting a health insurance waiver, you will be covered through the school’s insurance.
Students in the Graduate School of Education and Counseling are not required to have health insurance, but it is strongly encouraged. Graduate students may enroll directly in the 2016-2017 coverage by contacting USI NW at 1-800-251-4246 and talking to Patricia Wylie or Cassie Brown. You must enroll within 31 days from the effective date of coverage each semester (fall semester deadline is October 1, 2016 and spring semester deadline is February 1, 2017). It is your responsibility to purchase coverage each semester by the enrollment deadline.
